UArchitects / Founder & Principal Architect

The founder and principal architect of UArchitects (Urban Design and Architects), Misak Terzibasiyan, is deeply committed, both personally and professionally, to an international perspective and the impact of cultural themes. His focus is largely influenced by his ethnic background, as Misak Terzibasiyan was born in Helsinki, Finland.

He studied at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and gained experience working with several international architectural firms before establishing his studio in Eindhoven.

UArchitects is an international studio that embraces diversity, welcoming individuals of different nationalities. Our approach is characterized by an investigative attitude, demonstrated through the in-depth dialogues we engage in with our clients. Our reflection extends beyond the projects themselves to encompass the broader cultural context of architecture and urban development. We strive to make a social impact by examining the role and responsibilities of architects.

This introspective approach proves invaluable in our interactions with diverse cultures, aiding in our understanding of our role in addressing broader societal issues. Understanding societal identity is paramount in our design process for projects in various cultural settings. Instead of adopting a typical critical regionalism stance, our approach is open, future-oriented, and context-driven.

Our studio is dedicated to community and sustainability initiatives. The primary objective of our work is to contribute to the creation and design of environments that consider both nature and natural resources. We focus on incorporating biobased materials into our projects and envisioning fossil-free communities.
He is the author of the book: Experience and Meaning of Architecture (2021) , Experience of Architecture and Art “An Architect’s Journey” (2022) and UArchitects 20 years (2024).
