Before founding Hinterland, Filipa worked in private practice under the name Filipa Figueira Arquitectura (2009-2018), with André Santos (2009-2013) and collaborate with other architects. Filipa was awarded Concreta Under 40 Award by Cin 2022, and other awards. Her work has been exhibited in Porto, Lisbon, Braga, Maia and Hong Kong.
Between 2012 and 2013, Filipa completed the Advanced Studies in Architectural Heritage course at the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto (FAUP) and was admitted in 2013 to
the PhD program.

Between 2013 and 2014, Filipa co-produced, with Tiago Vieira and Building Pictures, the video series “Arquitectura à Moda do Porto”.
In 2017, Filipa produced, with Tiago Vieira, the exhibition “Protótipo wishbox hab T2 A+” at the Municipal Museum Armindo Teixeira Lopes, Mirandela.
In 2022 and 2023, in the Hinterland, Filipa, co-organized the international conference Build: from high to low tech.
In 2023 co-organized the conference Conversas“Por Exemplo”.
