Shanghai Children’s Library reimagines what a 21st-century library can be. As one of China's most comprehensive provincial-level children’s libraries, the new branch houses over 500,000 books across three floors. The overall design explores the future of children’s libraries by embracing new learning modes, integrating technology, and creating flexible environments that evolve with children's needs. More than just a place for reading, the library’s arched “bridge” form preserves the existing urban landscape, integrates seamlessly with nature, and symbolically connects childhood and the future.
